She knows she is bad in acting...
Something else comes into my mind.
Sometimes you see people build a business on some simple trick which they repeat acting like it is something extraordinair. Lot of followed coem and the fact they know what they do is not that special. It is like the emporers clotted. But in this case emporer knows.

She's watchable as hell. She's just got it, and it's gotten better over time.

She knows she is bad in acting... Something else comes into my mind. Sometimes you see people build a business on some simple trick which they repeat acting like it is something extraordinair. Lot of followed coem and the fact they know what they do is not that special. It is like the emporers clotted. But in this case emporer knows. Even if I think she, acting-wise, reached her peak long ago I disagree here. She clearly has 'it'. And 'it' is much more than acting skills, it's what degree of magic one can do through the lens of a camera -or not. In art sure there are lots of examples of artists who take advantage of the fact that their art is reproducible. And this started long before masters like Warhol, which might come to most people's mind. But even old Albrecht Duerer made most of his cash with works he let his wife print/copy and sale. It doesn't have to be the product itself that to me unique, sometimes it's the story about it, so if you story is very good why not going on sell it to people as long as their is demand. Art, not different to any other business, doesn't it just fulfill dreams and longings of people. I wouldn't be ashamed one second if I find a way to make thousands happy&satisfied with my product, that is totally un-extraordinary and cheap to reproduce. The opposite is more likely truth: If it looks that easy, why don't you sell emporer's clothes?

I want them too! Hurry! Maybe the quotes from a Daniel Radcliffe interview showed up in your news feed recently because he mentions Jodie. Since none of those b-class celeb sites mentioned a source I traced it back to NPR. www.nprberlin.de/post/child-actor-artist-radcliffe-reflects-post-potter-life..and it's a very good talk since it seems he became a really nice guy nowadays. He says.. "You know, Jodie Foster, Elijah Woods, Christian Bale all started very, very young. And, you know, particularly Jodie Foster is somebody who has handled both her professional and personal life with more grace than almost anybody." Also here (in case you didn't know): Trevor Project, gay support etc..

First, a minor correction. The caption "Foster at Yale" is wrong. The picture, here uncropped and better resolution... ...was taken in early '79 and Jodie more than 1 1/2 half years away from Yale. Next...did you read the text? I can't agree to some points but I find "butch invisibility" an interesting topic. In the "Jodie: An Icon" documentary the narrator simply said "the tomboy had to disappear when she grew up" or something like that. In a way they wanted to suggest, this is something that has to happen, else your homosexuality would become too visible and obvious to everyone. I wish there were people I could explore this a little bit deeper with, who maybe know JF's story and experienced the same in their lives. Wait, here you wrote "I was bored of so much Jodie and Alex" and there you asked "What do you say now that she has been spotted with Alex". So..what is it now?

We have a famous soccer player here and he supports gay rights groups too, when it became public he found himself in a situation where he had to 'explain' that --complete with rumours he must be gay and all (what he isn't). I don't know about the US but in Euroland gay football players are one of the last taboos. Yeah maybe except the German national soccer girls, where some women are out and proud. As much as I respect JF's way to handle everything...I think it's safe to say we humans make the most progress when stuff is visible and talked about. And to some degree it's straight people's liability to provide an environment where this is possible and safe. Radcliffe obviously (and because he never knew different) is aware of that. Yes, it's probably very easy for me to write on these things..but I also understand (and have the empathy) that changes happen too slow, that LGBT people don't see much change, give a sh* they have to rely on so called normal people and things even get worse in parts of the world --I'd be angry too.

You have to be realistic, Mario. You can not force an issue.
And JF has done an enormous amount of good just by being where she is and being a stable respected presence.

Sushi for two! Stylish Jodie Foster enjoys a date night with girlfriend Alexandra Hedison They've done their utmost to keep their relationship on the down low since they first started dating earlier this year. But on Thursday night, Jodie Foster and her girlfriend Alexandra Hedison were seen venturing out to grab some dinner at Nobu Matsuhisa Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills. Jodie, 50, looked stylish for the outing in a pair of black trousers, leather jacket and light grey scarf, while photographer Alexandra, 44, accessorised her ensemble with a black and gold scarf. However, Jodie ended up somewhat distracting from her date night look with what appeared to be a large scarf on her right foot, covered in medical tape. As the pair made their way to Jodie's car to head home, the Oscar-winning actress was seen clutching her wallet and a $20 note after apparently tipping the valet. Nobu Matsuhisa, which serves everything from sushi to hot dishes, is a popular restaurant choice among Hollywood's elite couples, with David and Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard all regular customers. In October, it was revealed that Jodie and Alexandra, who is the ex-girlfriend of Ellen DeGeneres, had been 'quietly dating' for several months. A source told E! News of the relationship at the time: 'It's pretty serious. They're totally in love.' It's not the first time that Jodie and Alexandra have been linked, as reports of a romance between he pair first emerged when they were seen together at a technology seminar in Los Angeles this summer. The duo then fuelled the claims when they went to dinner with friends several days later. The relationship marks the first serious pairings for both Jodie and Alexandra in several years. While Jodie and Cydney Bernard, who have two sons together, split in 2008 after a 20-year relationship, Alexandra split from Ellen in 2004 after three years together. It was claimed at the time that Ellen left Alexandra, who has appeared in shows including The L Word as well as her photography career, for her now-wife, Portia de Rossi. News of Jodie's romance with Alexandra comes after the actress came out as gay while accepting a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globe awards in January. SOurce Source Source

Oh, it's not me who puts pressure on JF for a public identity clarification, "or else we don't like her". Just wanted to say I understand it exists. And it's a legitimate question to ask what if every lesbian would (have) be(en) like JF. In slightly provocative words: Who has the power for visible changes if not her? ...yeah maybe I mix up her tough and brave on screen persona with the real one. But then, why does she feel so much for these roles. A warrior by nature only to fight a live long for this privacy thing? I don't believe in simple compensation.
